From time to time we like to bring you videos in from our friends at Dirt Racing Connection’s nothing but the facts video series. These videos usually feature some contact between two drivers and it’s tough to say who really is to blame for the accident. Today’s video is not much different
During the Modified’s A main at Florence Speedway on April 20th, Trent Green and Pete Holt were involved in a great battle for the lead. Green in the #11, had been riding the extreme top side of the speedway while Holt was using a more of a late apex style way of taking the corner.
You can tell from the video that Green was really making some time up getting into the corner, but Holt was slightly better coming off the corner. However, heading into turn three the two made some serious contact as it appeared that Holt started his line a little higher and Green had no where to go. The two caused a massive pileup and even ended up on top of each other.
You be the judge? Is anyone to blame for this accident? Did Green just flat run over Holt, or was it just a racing deal? Leave us a comment below with your opinion of the accident!
