In times of great need and a great challenge, truly creative people step up to the plate with new ideas to persevere. With this in mind, a major kudos goes out to Southern Raceway in Milton, Florida. The long-running dirt track recently announced on their Facebook page that their concession stand is being opened six days a week.
The statement on the track’s page read, “Breaking News: Southern Raceway would like to help the community with a drive-thru menu during this difficult time starting tomorrow (Friday, March 20, 2020). The same great food you get every Saturday night at the races!”
The available menu includes classic food items like hamburgers, cheeseburgers, classic hotdogs, chicken sandwiches, and various sausage dogs. Additionally, side items like fries are available. Additionally, bottled drinks, including Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Gatorade, and Water are available for purchase.
The track encourages interested parties to please call ahead to order your food. By doing this, your food is hot and ready when you arrive to pick it up. The track’s concession stand is scheduled to be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Southern Raceway opened its season on Saturday, February 28 with a United Sprint Car Series (USCS) program. The track was scheduled to return to action on Saturday, March 21. However, in a statement on their social media channels on March 18, it was announced that the season would be postponed until further notice as our country battles the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
