Southern All Star Racing Series Slate Hits the Streets

The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by MaxFab has released their 2019 preliminary schedule. The slate currently includes 20 dates as the upcoming season looks to be one of the busiest in the history of the series.

2019 season action kicks off on Sunday afternoon, March 3 at Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, South Carolina). The 16th Annual March Madness posts a $12,000 top prize.  This race has been a traditional opener for the series for 15 years. Throughout history the event has drawn talented fields and big crowds.

The series then heads south for the 3rd Annual Bash at the Beach at Southern Raceway (Milton, Florida) on March 15-16. The doubleheader includes a $3,000 to win show on Friday and a $7,000 to win on Saturday.  Southern All Stars also make another stop at Southern Raceway on Labor Day weekend. Another doubleheader is scheduled as part of the track’s 31st anniversary celebration. Action includes a pair of races on August 31 and September 1 paying $4,000 on Saturday and $5,000 on Sunday.

Thunderhill Raceway Park (Summertown, Tennessee) returns to the schedule in 2019 after a two-year absence. The facility plans to host $4,000-to-win events on April 20 and July 6.

Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee) will have two events in 2019. The $5,000-to-win Rockin’ with the Stars is planned for April 26. Meanwhile, the tour returns on September 28 for the $7,500-to-win King of the Mountain.

Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Alabama) will host three series’ races in 2019. Included in the planned events will be the annual NASCAR Weekend events on April 27  and October 12, both paying $4,000 to win. The second annual Governors Cup is scheduled for August 10 and will pay $10,000 to the winner.

Duck River Raceway Park (Wheel, Tennessee) is another track returning to the scheudle after an absence. On May 4 the Ducktona 40 will be run, paying $4,000 to win. Then, the series returns on June 29 with another $4,000-to-win affair.

Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Georgia) has two events scheduled for the 2019 campaign. The first race will take place on May 18, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the facility. The tour returns on June 22 for the Michael Head Jr Memorial, paying $5,454 to win.

For the first time ever, Kentucky’s Richmond Raceway will welcome the Southen All Star Racing Series on June 1. The $6,000 event will be as held as part of the 3rd annual Mike Roland Memorial.

South Georgia joins the 2019 schedule on September 13-14 with events at Oglethorpe Speedway (Pooler, Georgia) and  Screven Motor Speedway (Sylvania, GA).

I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tennessee) returns for the second-straight year with a $4,000-to-win race on September 21.

The tour expects to confirm additional dates and should have the schedule completed by the end of the month.
