News coming out of Arizona’s Reinbold/Underwood Motorsports headquarters is very encouraging for the Southwest team. Jocelyn Reinbold has stated that the team is committed to a 2019 USAC National schedule for 2019 with 22-year-old CJ Leary in the driver’s seat. This will be the Arizona-based team’s first season running the full USAC National schedule.
To date the team has cherry-picked 410 Sprint Car events over the past three-years with some of the top sprint car drivers in the country to great results. Thomas Meseraull, Justin Grant, Logan Seavey, and Jason McDougal have all recently piloted the team’s #19 uniquely painted sprinter.
For 2019, the Reinbold/Underwood Motorsports team has acquired the veteran wrench Davey Jones to CrewChief the A.M.E Electrical Contracting, Inc., Spike Chassis #19.
“I am looking forward to having the opportunity to drive for Team Reinbold. I’m excited to get into the shop and get the #19 cars started for 2019,” says Leary when asked about the new opportunity. ” I know Andy can provide the tools necessary to win races, contend for the championship, and have a blast while doing it!”.
Running locally and sporadically was fun and rewarding, but team owner Andy Reinbold had an urge to expand this team into something bigger. “We are excited to add CJ and Davey to our racing family. Our team has always been operated with a strong family influence,” says Reinbold. “Having the ability to compete for a USAC National title with one of the best young drivers behind the wheel is a true blessing to us. Super pumped to get this season rolling!”.
The debut of the Reinbold/Underwood AME Electrical, Spike Chassis #19AZ will be at Bubba Raceway on February 14th in Ocala, Florida. Follow the Reinbold/Underwood racing team on Facebook.
