NCRA Modifieds Prepare For 22nd Season Of Competition

The 2019 National Championship Racing Association (NCRA) Modified presented by Precise Racing Products schedule was recently released. The upcoming year marks the 22nd consecutive season of competition for the Park City, Kansas-based tour. Competitors are slated to take part in 11 events at four different venues. Included in the schedule is a first-ever stop at Caney Valley Speedway (Caney, Kansas).

The first race of the new season is planned for Saturday, April 20 at 81 Speedway (Park City, Kansas). The following Saturday brings the series’ competitors to the historic Kansas State Fairgrounds (Hutchinson, Kansas).

A single May event finds the tour competing at 81 Speedway on Saturday, May 25.

On June 7 the series contests a rare, Friday night event at 81 Speedway as part of the track’s “Pepsi Pours It on Classic.” The NCRA Modifieds join both the NCRA Sprint Cars and NCRA Crate Late Models on the evening’s program.

For the first time in the tour’s history, the NCRA Modified division will make an appearance at Kansas’ Caney Valley Speedway on June 22.

Four events dot the month of July with the first being held on Wednesday night, July 3 at 81 Speedway. The traveling brigade then makes a return visit to 81 Speedway on July 13 for “Open Wheel Madness.”

The famed 63rd running of the Hutchinson Grand Nationals, atop the Kansas State Fairgrounds, returns to its original weekend of July 26-27.

Labor Day weekend action brings the tour to 81 Speedway on Sunday, September 1 for the “Smokin’ Axles Jamboree.”

The 2019 season will draw to a close on Saturday night, October 5 with the series only appearance at Thunder Hill Raceway (Mayetta, Kansas).

Wichita, Kansas racer, Tanner Mullens won an impressive eight races on his way to the 2018 NCRA Modified Championship.
