Mike Mittler, was a St. Louis native who co-founded Mittler Brothers Machine & Tool, with brother Paul in 1980. While he never drove a race car, his love for the sport of racing was unmatched.
Mittler’s love for the sport started in the late 1970s when he worked on teams that propelled Rusty Wallace and brother Kenny Wallace to success in the American Speed Association (ASA) and later in the NASCAR level.
Mittler started his own NASCAR team, MB Motorsports, and was very prolific in NASCAR’s Truck Series. He remained very active in the team while maintaining a highly successful business in his hometown.
He was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2017 and had fought the cancer with the same passion as he ran his race team. All the way he shared his message and eagerly supported causes for early detection and finding a cure.
Mike Mittler passed away from complications of the decease on May 10, 2019. OneDirt.com wishes to express our most sincere condolences to the Mittler family and friends at their loss.
