Less than a week remains until the 2019 edition of the Country Pleasin’ Sausage Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100 comes to life at Columbus, Mississippi’s Magnolia Motor Speedway. With the event rapidly drawing near, competitors will be happy to hear that more money added to the weekend’s purse.
“I wanted to do a little something extra this year, so I decided to put up a couple of special bonuses,” revealed Magnolia State 100 founder, Dewitt Singleton. “I’ve posted a $2,000 bonus for a Super Late Model driver, who can win both nights. If somebody sweeps the weekend, they now will win $18,000.
“I also wanted to give an extra driver the opportunity to start Saturday night’s Super Late Model feature. So, after the B-Mains on Saturday night, we are going to throw everybody’s name into a hat and randomly draw a 25th starter for the 70-lap finale. That means an extra driver is going to make at least $700 that they weren’t expecting to make so that pretty cool.”
The 2019 Country Pleasin’ Sausage Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100 will be held on Thursday-Saturday, September 26-28.
Entries have already begun to roll in for the Super Late Model portion of the program. Early entries include defending champion, Dale McDowell along with Tanner English, Billy Moyer, Timothy Culp, Chris Brown, Brian Rickman, Rick Rickman, David Gentry, Brandon Overton, Cade Dillard, Garrett Alberson, Morgan Bagley, Shay Knight, Billy Moyer Jr., Dane Dacus, Vic Hill, Austin Rettig, Zach McMillan, Kyle Beard, Chad Thrash, Jonathan Rowan, Clay Fisher, Eric Cooley and more.
After seeing an Open Practice Session held on Thursday, September 26 there will be a complete $4,000-to-win/$300-to-start program on Friday, September 27 for the Super Late Models. On Saturday, September 28 the Super Late Model division will compete in a complete program that culminates with a $12,000-to-win/ $700-to-start, 70-lap finale.
