Racer Justin Peck has been suspended from competition for violation of the World of Outlaws substance abuse policy. According to the penalty notice, the suspension stems
The Penalty Notice went on to specify: “Peck tested positive for and over the cutoff value of a prohibited substance to wit: marijuana metabolite. The penalty is outlined below as a first offense participant.”
For a first offense Peck will be “withheld from competition for 90 days from the date of the test and fined $1000.” According to the WoO substance abuse policy, the “suspension term may be reduced to 60 days with the completion of an alcohol or drug-education program. Reinstatement will be conditional on two negative tests over the final 14-day period of the suspension and payment of the fine.”
Peck has the right to appeal the suspension based on the rules in Section 12 of the World of Outlaws rules and general specifications.
