For Alma, Wisconsin driver Danny Hanson, success has been the norm behind the wheel of his #5 WISSOTA Street Stock. Over the years Hanson has racked up a mighty impressive list of feature wins along with consistent finishes. Heading into the 2010 season, Hanson mapped out a plan that featured a three night per week race schedule. With National Title aspirations on his mind all season long, Hanson climbed to the top of the ladder garnering his first ever WISSOTA Street Stock National Championship in the process.
Hanson raced weekly at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, WI; Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, MN; and Dodge County Speedway in Kasson, MN. Racing against some of the top runners in all of WISSOTA, Hanson put together an unbelievable string of consistent finishes garnering championships at all three tracks. In all Hanson tallied 32 feature wins in 2010 being crowned WISSOTA Eastern Region Champion for his efforts as well.
Although Hanson’s rode to the title ultimately ran through the course of his three regular tracks, Danny also took his show on the road with great success. Along with multiple wins at Mississippi Thunder, Deer Creek, and Kasson; Hanson also scored feature wins at Chateau Raceway in Lansing, MN and Eagle Valley Speedway in Jim Falls, WI. Perhaps Hanson’s most impressive run of the season came at the 2010 WISSOTA 100 held at Dakota State Fair Speedway in Huron, SD. In the WISSOTA sanctioning bodies premiere event, Hanson finished fourth out of 77 competitors cementing his name in stone as one of the toughest WISSOTA Street Stock pilots in the country.
After a banner year in 2010 what can Hanson do for an encore in 2011? If Hanson’s career in the WISSOTA Street Stock division is any indication of what we’ll see from him in the future it’s safe to say that we’ll see plenty of the #5 in victory lane no matter what division he chooses to compete in.
