E3 Spark Plugs, long known for its performance spark plugs and ignition racing products, announced their plans to upgrade spark at the very beginning of the automotive energy cycle with a line of high-performance lithium batteries. While the products are designed for performance, the batteries will be available for street and track applications.
Announcing the new product line at this year’s SEMA Tradeshow, the company touted “advanced chemistry and system design” in the product. According to E3 Spokesman, “these advances offer outstanding cycle life, high charge acceptance, and up to a 60% weight reduction over lead-acid batteries.”
The E3 Lithium utilizes the same UltraPhosphate technology proven on the Formula 1 circuit. This should make it a high-demand product in racing, especially on dirt track race cars where weight is a major factor. The E3 Lithium batteries will not be available until early in 2020, but will initially come in 60 Amp Hour and 40 Amp Hour configurations.
E3 Vice President of Motorsports Rob Fisher, said, “Introducing a line of E3 batteries was a logical step as we look at the market opportunity and growth potential for our company, but we weren’t about to just bring another ‘me-too’ product to the market. The E3 battery had to be revolutionary and it had to outperform everything else out there. We believe we’ve done that by making UltraPhosphate Technology available to the aftermarket only in the E3 Lithium line of batteries.”
Features And Benefits:
- Lighter weight
- Dynamic charge acceptance
- Extreme cold temperature performance
- Extensive cycle life
- Long-lasting reliability and durability
Fisher claims the new product was “designed to be the last battery ever to be purchased for your vehicle. It is ideal for performance vehicles, both on and off-road, hybrids with regenerative braking, and race vehicles requiring a faster charge time and less battery weight.”
