Crate Racin’ USA Postpones The Start Of Weekly Racing Series Season

With the recent uncertainty of the ability of their sanctioned tracks to host Weekly Racing Series Events as a result of the COVID 19 outbreak, Crate Racin’ USA management has announced the postponement of the start of the 2020 Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Racing Series season.

The 2020 points were slated to begin the week of March 23. However, with the recent developments, concerning holding public gatherings as well as the financial risks that many will be faced with, series officials will review the start date. Officials plan to make a follow-up announcement on Tuesday, March 31.

Coronavirus has again affected the sport of racing.

“Our office will be open, and our staff will be available as always, as well as our Crate Seal orders for engine repairs or rebuilds will be fulfilled,” Crate Racin’ USA Director Adam Stewart said. “Our marketing partners will still be moving their products as they see fit and/or according to their corporate policies.

Additionally, Stewart noted that it’s the series that hope that the delay will allow all of their sanctioned speedways and partner sanctions to get through the COVID 19 pandemic and back to business as usual. The ultimate goal of the adjustment is to prevent any single track or area of competitors from being able to get an advantage.

This date was selected as it was the recommended “15-day” plan encouraged in a Monday, March 16 briefing by the President of the United States and Federal health officials. Between now and March 31, series officials plan to remain in close contact with promoters, sponsors, and government officials to ensure they have a plan of action in place moving forward.

If further delays or changes to the structuring of the Weekly Racing Series season or points structure are required, they will be released as needed. At this time, it is the intention of Crate Racin’ USA officials to run the full 27-Week 2020 Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Racing Series season.

The Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Racing Series gives competitors in four different racing Divisions an opportunity to compete for both a track point fund and a National point fund by racing weekly at their local Crate Racin’ USA-sanctioned track. The 27-week season lets competitors use their best 14 weekly point totals to count as their season point total.

The four Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Racing Series Divisions are the Late Model Division, the Street Stock Division, the Late Model Sportsman Division, and the Modified Sportsman Division.
