Mother Nature has managed to intervene for a final time during the 2018 season. Durrence Layne Racing and Cochran Motor Speedway officials have announced the postponement of the $5,000-to-win, 3rd Annual Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock World Championship Race.
The event, which was originally slated for December 28-29 at the Georgia oval, has been pushed back to January 10-12, 2019. A weather forecast calling for a high probability of rain led to the postponement.
The mega weekend atop the clay oval also includes Crate Late Models ($10,000-to-win), Late Model Sportsman ($2,000-to-win) and Bombers ($2,000-to-win).

The on-track action at Cochran Motor Speedway will begin on Thursday night, January 10 with an Open Practice Session. The pit gate for the Open Practice will open at 4 p.m. The track will be open for practice from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
