Butterball Wooldridge Memorial Posts Largest ULTIMATE Purse Ever

The ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series has announced the largest purse in the history of the series.

The 32nd Annual Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial will pay $20,059 to win and $575 to start on August 16 and 17 at Kentucky’s Richmond Raceway. The Butterball will be running in conjunction with the $10,000-to-win 14th annual Scorcher at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tennessee) on August 15.

The Scorcher has become a staple event on the tour and is hosted the same weekend as Bristol Motor’s Speedway’s fall NASCAR race. The huge regional Super Late Model weekend will feature nearly $100,000 in purse money in three days for ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series competitors.

“This will be a historic weekend for the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series,” said FASTRAK Companies International Vice President DJ Irvine, “Our teams will be competing for their share of nearly $100,000 in purse money over the course of three days at Volunteer Speedway and Richmond Raceway.”

The ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series will contest qualifying and heat races at Richmond Raceway on August 16 with B-Mains and the $20,059 to win Feature on August 17. The $20,059 to win, $575 to start purse will also be the largest payout in the history of the Butterball Memorial.

“We are very excited to offer the fans and race teams in the region a weekend such as this,” said Richmond Raceway owner Bill Lupinos, “We are looking forward to the largest Butterball Memorial that Richmond Raceway has ever seen.”

Zack Mitchell was the 2019 ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series Champion.

Both races are required point’s events for drivers with the ULTIMATE Southeast Super Late Model Series and ULTIMATE Heart of America Super Late Model Series. The Butterball will welcome the ULTIMATE Mid-Ohio Valley Super Late Model Series as an additional co-sanctioned region and both races will be a Bonus Race for the ULTIMATE Deep South Super Late Model Series and ULTIMATE Northeast Super Late Model Series. This allows drivers from these series to replace a lower finish within their home region.
