Mother Nature has taken the win in this weekend’s 26th Annual COMP Cams Topless 100 at Batesville Motor Speedway. Wet grounds with more rain forecasted for the weekend has forced track officials to postpone the three-day event, which was to be sanctioned between the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil and Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS). Track and series officials are currently seeking a potential reschedule date.
“This is not what we wanted to do,” stated Mooney Starr, owner of Batesville Motor Speedway. “However, we did not want to get all of the drivers and fans here, and then have to cancel. With the grounds already saturated and the forecast for more rain throughout the weekend, it was best for everyone involved to postpone the event.”
The CCSDS now turns their attention to a triple header over the Labor Day weekend in Arkansas and Mississippi. Action opens on Friday, August 31 at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway (Paragould, Arkansas) with a $5,000-to-win event event before shifting to Greenville Speedway for a doubleheader on Saturday, September 1 ($2,500-to-win) and Sunday, September 2 ($2,000-to-win)
