2019 FASTRAK World Championship Continues to Break Records

In late 2018, series’ officials announced that the 2019 FASTRAK World Championship would shatter previous records. The season-ending, mega event, slated for September 13-14, 2019 at Virginia Motor Speedway (Jamaica, Virginia), received a major purse bump. Not only was the purse increased to $2,050 to start, but the winner’s check was bumped to a whopping $50,000.

With the massive event still seven months away, more money and more starters are being added to the finale. The race will now have two provisional, starting spots. The first will be a track provisional for Virginia Motor Speedway. Meanwhile, the driver, highest in points who competes in the FASTRAK Racing Series on the AFCO Crate Spec Shocks and does not qualify for the A-Main, will receive the second provisional starting spot.

“We want to give the weekly drivers here at Virginia Motor Speedway something to race for all season long,” said Dave Seay of Virginia Motor Speedway, “It’s a way for us to give back to the drivers that support us and FASTRAK all season.”

The addition of the two provisionals brings the starting field to 26 cars. With the addition of the additional spots, the total purse increases from $158,075 to $162,175. The landmark purse makes the finale the richest race in the history of Pro Late Model Racing.

“Adding two spots to the field adds $4,100 to the purse,” said FASTRAK Executive Vice President DJ Irvine, “This historic event keeps on getting bigger, and we’ll be adding more purse money with non-qualifiers’ races in the coming weeks.”
