JE Pistons has supported grassroots racers and circle track motorsports since the company’s inception over 70 years ago. Their purpose-built pistons have been favored by top engine builders in NASCAR, ALMS, NHRA, AMA Supercross, and many other top-level racing series.
JE’s technical associate Bryce Mulvey claims the company’s development of unique materials, along with a strong research and development crew have given JE the reputation as an elite performance piston manufacturer. Everyone else recognizes the precision CNC machines and specially designed forgings as a major key to JE’s success.
What is clear to all is JE Piston offerings are able to maintain exacting specs on each piston, with the ability to hold tolerances so close that each piston is like a matching piece to every other set of pistons made by the company.
So you can see why JE was excited to tell us about another piston part number the company added to its circle track arsenal. The latest forging design from the company is the ultra-lightweight IMCA/USRA piston designed for these race applications that specify engines equipped with 2-barrel carburetors.
These pistons focus on low weight, friction, and offer a wide range of supported bore sizes. These pistons are designed for the budget circle track racer who wants to maximize performance per dollar and fit within the series rules comfortably.
The IMCA/USRA 2-Barrel Flat Top Pistons Feature:
- Extremely lightweight (383g) for maximized off-the-corner acceleration.
- Bore sizes range from 4.030″ to 4.065″ with 0.005″ increments to maximize block compatibility.
- Strut lightening holes help remove mass and improve windage.
- 0.043″ gas nitrided top, 0.043″ Napier second, and 3mm oil ring reduces drag.
- Accumulator and contact reduction grooves.
- Double pin oiling.
