The final event of the 2019 season for Hartford Speedway included the American Ethanol Modified Tour Presented by Allstar Performance for the Fall Special.  Jacob Poel, the former two-time Champion of the Tour, showed that he can still get the job done when he returns to Tour-style competition.

Poel, who led the field to the American Ethanol Green Flag alongside Jeffery Erickson, Jr, jumped out to the early lead.  Poel was the class of the field during the event that went nearly the entire way without a caution, stretching out a nearly two-second advantage over Erickson.  The first caution would fly with just nine laps remaining when David Boening spun off turn two.  This was the break that ninth place starting Will Krup was looking for.

Krup had worked his way into the Third position and was turning lap times two to three-tenths of a second faster than Poel who was working lapped traffic.  Erickson elected to restart the race on the inside of the racetrack, putting Krup on the top shelf.  Krup used momentum to move into the Second spot, tracking Poel but not able to challenge for the lead.  The caution would fly again with six laps remaining, setting up another shot for Krup and Erickson.

The restart was no match for Poel, who was perfect all for all 30 laps, collecting the $1,500 payday and getting a ticket to YellowHose.com Victory Lane.  Krup brought it home second, Erickson third, Bob Pohlman and Curt Spalding round out the top five.

The American Ethanol Modified Tour wrap-up the 2019 season next weekend with a pair of first time trips.  Friday, September 20th the Tour joins the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at Kokomo Speedway in Kokomo, Indiana, then on Saturday, the season comes to an end from Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois.
