Trammell Holds Off Field To Win Firecracker 40 At Tazewell

Tazewell Speedway welcomed the Schaeffer’s Iron-Man Championship Series on July 3, 2020, for the Firecracker 40. The Super Late Models were slated to do battle for a $5,000-to-win prize. Supporting classes included the Sportsman class with a $1,000 winner’s check, Modified Street class for a $500 prize to the winner. Also competing for $500 winner’s purses were the ever popular Classic Car class and the Street Stocks.

Jonathan Miracle drove his #50 into the winner’s circle to claim the Sportsman win. Kevin Crane picked the right day to chalk up his first career win with a victory in a spirited Classic Car feature. Donovan Long was victorious in the Street Stock feature and the Modified Street feature went to #13 David Clark.

Schaeffer’s Iron-Man Championship Series Firecracker 40

Vic Hill took quick time in the Group A qualifier (11.481 seconds) with Jason Trammell securing his front-row starting position for the feature by setting quick time (11.478 seconds) in the Group B qualifier.

Jason Trammell grabbed the Iron Man Championship Series win on Friday night. Vic Hill and Trammell started on the front row. Hill took the early lead and Donald McIntosh moved into second. On lap 22, McIntosh took the lead from Hill. On the next lap, Hill got into McIntosh in turn 1 and sent McIntosh spinning. Hill moved up the track with an issue on the restart allowing Trammell to shoot by for the lead. Trammell held off Ryan King to take the win.

Later, Jason Trammell (90) zips by Vic Hill (5) for the lead.
