Seavey Draws First Blood In 2019 Indiana Midget Week Opener

Photos by Jim DenHamer

Logan Seavey, last year’s National Midget Champion, battled his way back to the winner’s circle at Montpelier Motor Speedway Tuesday night for the “Indiana Midget Week” opener. Seavey got to the front on the seventh lap and never looked back for his first USAC Midget win in 2019.

Car owner Keith Kunz congratulates Seavey on his win.

Seavey started on the pole but was bested in the first turn by Zeb Wise. A restart on the fifth lap after Meseraull stalled on the track, gave Seavey a shot at Wise. The two drivers battled for two laps before Seavey got to the front and set sail.

Top three: Zeb Wise, Logan Seavey, and Tanner Thorson.
