The 2012 season is winding down and with it comes the annual Western World Championships. In its 45th year in existence the Western World takes place at the Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, AZ. Last night fans saw both the ASCS winged and non-wing sprint cars take to the track.
During the qualifiers for the non-wings, Kevin Thomas Jr. was making a bid to take the lead away from Thomas Ogle early in the race when disaster struck. Thomas touched the right rear of Ogle sending Thomas into a dramatic flip that saw him get nearly 10 feet in the air.
Our friends from XSAN who are doing live pay-per-view from the event captured the dramatic flip and caught up with Thomas after the accident. Unfortunately the damage forced Thomas and his team to pack it up and head back home as they only brought one car and the damage was to much to continue.
Kevin Thomas Jr. was eventually transported to an area hospital following the flip in his qualifier. Thomas was complaining about pain in his Knees and Neck.
