Tucson Raceway Park Goes Dirt

Tucson Raceway Park has seen the light and has made plans to end their asphalt season early and switch to a dirt surface for the second half of the year.  According to their website at http://tucsonracewaypark.com/ , June 26 will be the last asphalt race at the track.

That night will be a double points night and Asphalt Champions in each division will be crowned.  The track will then shut down for the change over and will reopen as a dirt track on August 7th.

Below is the message posted on the track’s website:

TRP GOES DIRT AUGUST 7- DETAILS WILL BE POSTED JUNE 9th

Our next race is the Lucas Oil Modifieds- the schedule will be posted early this week

We will be hosting our last asphalt race on June 26th. We feel that it is very, very important to put on as big a show as possible with as much value as possible for the fans and racers for these last two asphalt events.

Every division will have double features and double points for both the 12th and the 26th.

To clarify, Hornets, Factory Stocks, Street Stocks, Pro-4’s, Drivetech Late Models and Super Late Models will each have double features and double points on each of these nights.

I will declare an asphalt champion in each division complete with plaques for each of our champions at that time.
