For the past few years, the economy has made it a challenge for promotors to benefit from running a super late model division due to the high cost of the purse. The end result caused many tracks to cancel late model dates and others to lower the payout. However, the P.R.O. Super Late Model division has come to the rescue for the 2010 season. Founded by a group of four individuals, Mike Mauldin, Johnny Stokes, Rodney Wing, and Mike Vaughn, the P.R.O. Late Models have managed to continue grass roots racing in the Mississippi and Alabama area by providing up to 14 races in the circuit. Although this is the innagural season for the series, Promotors feel that this will be a successful year for both racers as well as promotors and the P.R.O. Late Model Series plans to continue the growth of the division to better Late Model racing in the area.
