The innovative new Cold Fire Suppression System from Speedway Motors is the first on-board fire system of its type to offer the added protection of automatic fire detection. Not only can the driver manually trigger the fire extinguishing system, but a proprietary sensor line will also detect the presence of fire and automatically activate the system if the driver is unaware or unable to do so. Speedway’s Cold Fire Suppression System uses a compact stainless steel tank to contain its non-toxic, non-corrosive and environmentally friendly extinguishing agent. The tank is easy to mount and even easier to refill and recharge. The basic system has provisions for two extinguishing lines – a composite line with a wide-spray nozzle for discharge, and a unique sensor line that will automatically activate the system when exposed to fire. This sensor line can be routed to key areas of the racecar where, like a watchdog, it is always on alert. Extra lines and nozzles are available separately so you can expand and customize the system to suit the needs of your specific racecar.
