Let the Dreaming Begin! Racers And Fans Turn Their Eyes Toward Big E

It’s officially that time of each racing season, when Dirt Late Model drivers begin “dreaming” of winning one of dirt racing’s biggest prizes.

In less than two weeks racers from around the globe will converge on Rossburg, Ohio’s Eldora Speedway to begin their pursuit of the $100,000 winner’s check, in the annual Dirt Late Model Dream.

The race is slated to come to life on June 7-9, 2018 as a record purse awaits competitors at Tony Stewart’s palace of speed.

With the crown jewel event approaching at a break-neck pace, the track has officially made the entry form for the 2018 event available at www.EldoraSpeedway.com.

In 2017 Mooresburg, Tennessee’s Scott Bloomquist claimed the coveted win for an unprecedented seventh time. The Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer will be back in 2018 as he seeks the lion’s share of the over $396,000 in prize money that is posted for the three-day affair.

Amongst the editions to the purse for 2018 is the Rookie of the Race program. During Thursday and Friday’s preliminary programs the top-three performing Dirt Late Model Dream newcomers will be rewarded with bonuses of $500, $300, and $200 each night. A $1,000 bonus will be awarded to the overall best-performing rookie from Thursday and Friday’s action.

For Saturday’s finale, the top performing rookie will receive a $2,000 bonus.

Drivers will see the field split into twin $5,000-to-win events on Thursday, while Friday will see the field divided into a pair of $10,000-to-win programs. The weekend comes to a dramatic close on Saturday night, when the traditional $100,000 winner’s check will be on the line at the ½-mile oval.

Not only have their been purse revisions, but teams are also being presented with a rule revision.

After seeing the rules package for the last few events at Eldora Speedway preventing drivers from grooving and siping tires, the 2018 Dirt Late Model Dream will see teams once again permitted to make desired preparations.

Both racers and fans can find any-and-all event details for the 24th running of the Dirt Late Model Dream at www.EldoraSpeedway.com.
