Hell Tour Heads To Newly Named Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55

The Hell Tour invades Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 Raceway this Saturday night where the UMP DIRTCar Super Late Models will be fighting for the winner’s purse of $10,000.   Winning the event last year at I-55 was Billy Moyer, who is fresh off of another win in the St. Louis area last Friday at Tri-City Speedway.  Moyer was one of three drivers to lead laps at the high banks of the then named I-55 Raceway on a list that also included Dennis Erb Jr. and Shannon Babb.  Another driver many people expect a strong run out is Brandon Sheppard, who is driving the Rocket Chassis house car formerly campaigned by “Kid Rocket”, Josh Richards.  Richards took the blue no. one to victory lane at the Pepsi Nationals held at I-55 Raceway last year and the knowledge gained about the track last year may lead to good things for Sheppard.

Brian Shirley, current Hell Tour Point leader

Leading the list of over 160 drivers who have accumulated points on The Hell Tour so far this year is Brian Shirley.  Babb trails by 41 points with Jason Feger trailing Shirley by 141.  Sheppard, driving the Rocket Chassis house car sits in the fourth position.  Defending UMP Late Model National Champion,  Ryan Unzicker, has grabbed the fifth position.  Currently holding down the sixth position is young gun, Bobby Pierce Jr.  Leading up to Saturday night at I-55 Raceway will include events tomorrow night at Clayhill Motorsports Park in Atwood, TN., and Paducah International Raceway on Friday night in Paducah, KY.
