Nationwide, statewide or local? This year, past 5 years, or last week?

There's a lot of good Dirt Late Model Drivers. If we are talking Nationwide, you really have to like what Jimmy "Nightmare" Owens has done this year. Kid Rocket had a real breakout year. Francis, Moyer, Birky, Bloomers, and a whole host of others have real good fans and have done some great racing in the past 5 years.

The best and the worst on what day, let alone any thing else. Kelly Boen is always bad fast, but in Tucson in the last weekend, he couldn't get out of his own way. Some days are just like that.

This has got to be the stupidest post of all time.

When you compare WOO drivers to local guys, you are not comparing apples to apples. Those WOO guys are nothing more then over paid car jockeys.

The best drivers are people who can take junk and drive it around the track.
It doesn't matter if they win every week or come in last place, it is the talent level and the determination that they have to succeed.

There are thousands of hot shoe local drivers in this world that never gets the chance to race the big time, but every dog has his day.

I let a guy drive my street stock one night in a race against real late model racecars. A couple of weeks before the race, my primary engine blew up and all I had was a old worn out 400 small block Chevrolet and a set of double hump heads. So I put a old worn out Z/28 camshaft in the engine and a new oil pump and a deep sump pan and that guy drove his butt off and got the whole way up to 10th from 26th and then some guy in front of him spun out and we ended up on top of his hood. I think we finished 14th that night.

3000 lbs car vs 2400 lbs car. 700 Hp vs 300 hp. I think we did pretty good.

Another similar story that happened a long time ago involved a guy named Wendell Scott. I think they were at Richmond and his primary motor blew up and they took the motor out of their haul truck and put it in the race car.
I think they were lapped 16 times and still finished 6th. Now that is a real race car driver.
