Default VV rules question

The rules at Victorville say no Vtec. Can I run a motor that has had the Vtec removed?

Ahhh, but we do have a 10.5:1 compression ratio rule. Some of the VTECs have as much as 11.1:1 May want to check compression ratio before using!

Thats on your "guage". If I were you I'd let Mike pump it anyway to see what his "guage" says. If the turkey was any indication, everyone said they were in the legal limits (of course) but when they got pumped for vac, (I know its completely diffrent NERD) 7 out of 10 failed!!!!

"wat? we is not cheatin'. Dat der guage is wrong."

But the point of this story is, just because your guage may be right, the tech officials is the one that matters. If your 10.4 and the rule is 10.5, be careful bc you never know when your getting pumped!!!

The funny part about the Turkey was they didn't deny they were illegal, they just were comlaining about VAR teching the cars down the list until 5 legal cars were found. It was hilarious to see a guy say "I know I'm illegal but you should stop teching after the top 5! That's the way I do it at my track!"
I like the fact that Mike goes for 5 legal cars. Keeps illegal cars from just finishing 6th to keep money and points.

Being that close to the max I'd definitely keep an eye on the compression after a rebuild.

Whats funny is Chad Johnson was there telling the bako cheaters he could make a car that fast without cheating and the old guy who likes to argue from Bako actually told him "you have no idea what it takes to get a car that fast". OK first of all Chad Johnson is the ultimate trophy hunter. Man knows his stuff. Secondly the old guy pretty much admitted that it took alot more than cams to make them go that fast.

I'm sorry but when the rule says 17 pounds of vaccume at 800 rpm and they are pulling 11-12, thats a little rediculous. Then there were some who said they did that just to not pay out the division. And people wonder why the drivers at VAR dont like Bako. One Bako driver told the tech officials "I read the rules and changed my cam to meet the rules" and guess what? HE WAS FOUND LEGAL!!! Deliberate intent on their part. Too many tracks do nothing but slap a sticker on a car and consider it legal. I take my hat off to the officials at VAR for finally doing what other tracks would consider "taboo". (DQ someone)

Comp ratio and cranking preasure are two completly different things. You can have 12.5 comp ratio and only pump 170lbs cranking preasure because if you cam timming. Compresion ratio is a mathamatical formula. An easy way to explain comp ratio is. If you remove one of your spark plugs (with the piston at top dead center) and fill that cyl untill it is full, lets say it takes exactley one cup of water. That is the volume of your combustion chamber. Next you need to measure the volume of the cyl at Bottom dead center. Lets say it holds 10 cups of water to the top of the cyl not including the combustion chamber. That would make the engine 10.0comp ratio. 10 devided by 1= 10
