Default SUPR Kicks Off Season this Coming Weekend

The O’Reilly Auto Parts SUPR Late Model Series officially unveiled the schedule for the 2010 racing season, the 21st year of promoting dirt late model racing in the gulf south. The season begins once again at Texas Motor Speedway with the 7th Annual Texas World Dirt Track Championship. This event has grown to one of the largest dirt races in the country with last year’s event attracting 397 entries in three divisions including the O’Reilly Auto Parts SUPR Late Models. The event runs from February 25-27 with the O’Reilly Auto Parts SUPR Late Models holding a practice session on Friday night February 26th and one-day show featuring a 40-lap main event on Saturday night, February 27th.



The racing resumes on Saturday night, March 20 when Champion Park Speedway takes the center stage for the first of four events run at the Haughton, Louisiana speed plant located just off I-20 just outside of Shreveport. The action then shifts south for a Easter weekend doubleheader on April 2-3 with the Friday night show being run at the home of the O’Reilly SUPR Late Models, Baton Rouge Raceway and the Saturday night show will take place at Pike County Speedway in Magnolia, Mississippi.

The action then swings back west when the O’Reilly Auto Parts SUPR Late Models visit Cowtown Speedway in Kennedale, Texas on Saturday night, April 24th. This is just the second time the O’Reilly Auto Parts SUPR Late Models will visit the tight quarter mile oval south of Fort Worth the last coming back in 1998.

Greenville Speedway in Greenville, Mississippi will see the O’Reilly Auto Parts SUPR Late Models return for the first of two shows with the first being run on Saturday night May 8th. The series will then make its debut at the newly opened USA Speedway in Sterlington, Louisiana on Friday night, May 28th. The USA Speedway event also marks the first of a three-night Memorial Day weekend roll down I-20 that will see the series visit Champion Park Speedway on Saturday night, May 29th and then on the Lone Star Speedway in Kilgore, Texas on Sunday night, May 30th.

June 12th will see the O’Reilly Auto Parts SUPR Late Models rumble into Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas for a Saturday night shootout, the first of three summer time events at legendary the Dallas area track. The tour then heads back east on I-30 for a two-day show at another legendary speedway, Little Rock, Arkansas’ I-30 Speedway. The racing begins on Friday night, June 18th and continues on Saturday night, June 19th. The month of June concludes with a return visit to Pike County Speedway on Saturday night, June 26th.

The month of July begins with a July 4th weekend double header beginning on Friday night, July 2nd at Lone Star Speedway and concluding on Saturday night, July 3rd at Champion Park Speedway. The series travels back to the Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Saturday night, July 17th before making another back-to-back show at I-30 Speedway on Friday, July 23rd and Saturday, July 24th. The O’Reilly Auto Parts SUPR Late Models then wrap up the busy month of July with a visit to Baton Rouge Raceway on Saturday, July 31st.

August will open with a Saturday night showdown at Pike County Speedway on August 7th and will end with the third of three shows at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Saturday, August 28th.

Labor Day weekend will begin with a Saturday night show at Greenville Speedway on September 5th and will conclude with the final visit of the year to Champion Park Speedway on Sunday, September 6th.

Texas will then take center stage as the O’Reilly Auto Parts SUPR Late Models make a third and final visit to Lone Star Speedway on September 11th. This special show will see the O’Reilly Auto Parts SUPR Late Models joined by the American Sprint Car Series’ Lone Star Region on the big ˝ mile facility.

Texas Motor Speedway will host the inaugural U. S. National Dirt Track Championship and the O’Reilly Auto Parts SUPR Late Models will be part of the show. More details to come on this exciting new addition to the Texas Motor Speedway schedule.

The Louisiana State Championship will be held once again at Baton Rouge Raceway on October 8-9 with the O’Reilly Auto Parts SUPR Late Models running a one-day show on Saturday, October 9th.

The season will come to a close with the 2010 Jambalaya 100 held at Pike County Speedway in Magnolia, Mississippi on November 12-13. The only 100-lap main event on the O’Reilly Auto Parts SUPR Late Model schedule, the race will see the official crowning of the 2010 Champion.
