Perhaps one of the most interesting named events of the year rolled off last weekend at Mississippi’s Magnolia Motor Speedway as the annual Possum Town Grand Prix was contested.
151 total entries took part in the two-day affair. Kentucky’s Darrell Lanigan scored the big win over a field of 62 competitors with a flag-to-flag $10,000 triumph in the 100-lap, NeSmith Dirt Late Model Series finale.
62-year-old track promoter Johnny Stokes showed the young kids how it’s done by topping the $2,000-to-win Street Stock feature. Tony Shelton – known as the Junkyard Dog – raced to the Late Model Sportsman feature win.
Booger Brooks was victorious in the Outlaw Street feature, while Jason Byrd claimed the Factory Stock win.
The ever-popular Old Timer’s Reunion Race saw Terry King letting everyone know he still knows how to go in circles.
