World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series point leader, Brandon Sheppard overcame a great battle with Ryan Unzicker just before the race’s midway point to take sole possession of the lead. Once out front he cruised to his first win in the mega-event. The victory was worth $30,000 with Ryan Unzicker and Devin Moran completing the podium.
The $5,000-to-win DIRTcar UMP Modified feature saw Highland, Illinois racer, Mike Harrison mount an epic surge to the front of the field from the 17th-starting spot. He claimed not only the $5,000 victory but also the Summit Equipment Modified Nationals title for his efforts in the feature.
